Lasqueti committee defers minimum-lot-size bylaw decision

The Lasqueti Island Local Trust Committee requested staff to draft a Land Use Bylaw amendment limiting subdivision potential of lots 64.74 hectares or more to a minimum lot size of 4.05 hectares. [1]
The committee had earlier passed a resolution referring to lots 80 hectares or more, then rescinded it before passing the resolution using 64.74 hectares. [1]
Further consideration of advancing proposed Bylaw No. 107 was deferred pending additional information. [1]
The proposed bylaw would amend the minimum lot area for subdivision in Subdivision District A from 4 hectares to 4.05 hectares, equivalent to 10 acres. [1]
The minutes record that the bylaw had received first reading, referrals had been sent to First Nations and agencies, and no concerns had been identified in the responses. [1]
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 6, 2026 at 11:00 am at Lasqueti Community Hall. [1]
