The Lasqueti Island Local Trust Committee gave proposed Bylaw No. 104 third reading on Feb. 27, after approving an amendment and giving the bylaw second reading as amended.[1] The committee also directed staff to ask the applicant to explore extending cable protection past the 200-foot barge to protect barge activities.[1]
The bylaw concerns a proposed rezoning for a fibre-optic cable landing on the island; the minutes say the proposal is specific to a telecommunications utility and placing the cable on shore.[1]
