The Lasqueti Island Local Trust Committee approved version 6.1 of its Official Community Plan review project charter at its May 6 meeting, and directed staff to prepare a business case for the 2025/26 budget covering unfinished review items, three future projects, possible Land Use Bylaw revisions and an updated community vision statement.[1]
The business case is to include unfinished items from the OCP/LUB Review Project charter, items 2, 3 and 4 from the Future Projects Report, and potential Land Use Bylaw revisions arising from OCP amendments.[1]
Trustee Timothy Peterson said the committee had been asked to scale back the charter to keep the work classified as a minor project, and that some items were out of scope because of budgetary issues.[1]
The committee also approved amended text for its section of the 2023/24 annual report, including information about meetings with Snaw-naw-as First Nation leadership during the OCP review and contributions to developing a protocol agreement between the First Nation and Islands Trust.[1]
