The committee approved its Official Community Plan review project charter after amending it to adjust the lot-size number to 4.046 hectares; it also asked staff to prepare amendments to the proposed OCP bylaw to meet Islands Trust policy directives and Local Government Act requirements.[1]

The committee asked staff to add a Land Use Bylaw review to its future projects list, including subdivision rules related to lot size and proof of water, public foreshore access, possible expansion of the marine conservation zone and housing.[1]

The future projects list also includes an OCP update addressing consistency with the Regional Conservation Plan and Coastal Douglas-Fir Toolkit, housing, subdivision rules related to proof of water, and additional topics recommended by the Lasqueti Community Association OCP Steering Committee.[1]

Trustee Peterson said the OCP update could be included in a major project with a business case for the 2025/2026 fiscal year, discussed at a regular committee meeting by May 2024 at the latest, and that priority Land Use Bylaw items could proceed as minor projects.[1]

The committee also adopted an amendment to its meeting procedures bylaw. Trustee Peterson said time limits would be relevant when there was a long queue of speakers and noted that a Trust-wide meeting procedures policy might be considered.[1]
